Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) (9746)
Join Summit Home Care & Hospice as a Physical Therapist Assistant. This part‑time role (approx 20 hours per week) is based in Jasper, IN and covers surrounding areas including Huntingburg, IN.
Hours & Compensation- Part‑Time
Hours:
~20 Hours/Week (Weekdays);
Flexible Schedule - Pay Structure:
Pay per Visit (Rates vary depending on service) - Coverage
Location:
Jasper, IN & Surrounding Areas (Including Huntingburg, IN) - Travel:
Required + Mileage Reimbursement
- Work directly with patients on therapeutic exercises designed to regain full mobility, strengthen muscles, and improve coordination.
- Administer various physical modalities, such as soft tissue massage, electrical muscle stimulation, and ultrasounds, to relieve pain, improve circulation, and reduce swelling.
- Collaborate with team personnel to achieve well‑rounded care.
- Develop and implement physical therapy programs focused on rehabilitation.
- Evaluate effects of therapy treatment and communicate patients' progress.
- Observe and reassess patients’ progress to modify the plan of care as needed.
- Share necessary information with the PT when adjustments are required.
- Ensure patients receive personalized care.
- Provide training for using assistive devices such as crutches, canes, or prosthetics.
- Record and document patient care services and progress.
- Keep the PT up to date on patients’ progress and identify which aspects of treatment are effective.
- Associate Degree in Science or Applied Science from an accredited institution.
- Active PTA License in the state of Indiana.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
- Recent TB test.
- Willingness to travel to patients’ homes.
- Preferred prior experience in physical therapy, rehabilitation, or related fields.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build rapport with in‑home patients, PTs, and Assisted Living Facility (ALF)/Independent Living Facility (ILF) staff.
- Capability to work in a fast‑paced, flexible environment.
- Ability to handle the physical workload with kindness, compassion, and empathy.
