Title
Special Education Paraprofessional/Classroom Assistant
OverviewThe district is seeking dedicated paraprofessionals to support students with disabilities across grade levels (K–12), including in self-contained and inclusive classroom settings. Positions involve providing individualized and small‑group support under the direction of a certified special education teacher.
Responsibilities- Assisting students with academic tasks, behavior support, and daily routines
- Supporting implementation of IEPs, behavior plans, and accommodations
- Promoting student independence and inclusion
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and/or medical needs, as required
- Supporting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
Paraprofessionals must be flexible, dependable, and team-oriented. Strong communication and a positive, student-focused mindset are essential. Assignments may vary based on student needs.
Requirements (per PA regulations)- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet one of the following:
Associate's degree, 48 post‑secondary credits, or PDE‑approved paraprofessional credential - Current clearances (PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI)
- Willingness to complete required professional development and training
