Job Description Chief Accountant Sealy Mattress Middle East operated by Middle East Mattress Factory Co is seeking a highly analytical detail-oriented Chief Accountant to oversee our financial operations reporting and compliance framework Based At our regional headquarters in Jeddah Saudi Arabia you will lead the day-to-day accounting functions ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls across our retail and manufacturing operations in the MENA region
Role OverviewAs the Chief Accountant you will take ownership of the general ledger tax compliance and financial closing cycles This role requires a professional who can bridge operational accounting with strategic financial oversight ensuring that Sealy Middle East operates with maximum fiscal efficiency and stays fully compliant with both Saudi regulatory standards and international financial policies
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting amp General Ledger Manage the end-to-end monthly quarterly and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements Oversee all general ledger accounts bank reconciliations fixed asset registries and inventory valuation metrics Prepare comprehensive financial statements Balance Sheet Income Statement Cash Flow in compliance with IFRS guidelines
- Tax Zakat and Compliance Lead the preparation review and accurate filing of VAT Zakat and corporate tax returns through the Zakat Tax and Customs Authority ZATCA portal Ensure full adherence to local Saudi financial regulations commercial laws and internal corporate governance standards Coordinate and manage relationship workflows with external auditors during year-end financial audits
- Treasury amp Cash Flow Management Monitor daily cash positions and manage corporate accounts payable AP and accounts receivable AR to optimize working capital Review payroll processing ensuring flawless execution alongside local compliance via the Saudi Madad portal Evaluate and authorize vendor payments expense reports and petty cash allocations
- Cost Control amp Inventory Accounting Collaborate closely with factory operations to analyze manufacturing costs raw material variances and inventory margins Implement robust internal control mechanisms to safeguard company assets and eliminate financial discrepancies
Open to both Saudi Nationals and Egyptian Nationals residing in the Kingdom.
LocationMust permanently reside in or be willing to immediately commute to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
EducationHolder of a Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance , or a closely related financial discipline.
ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or corporate finance, ideally within the manufacturing, retail, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
Technical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in utilizing Tier-1 ERP systems (such as Odoo). Expert knowledge of ZATCA e-invoicing (Fatoorah phase 1 and
2) integrations and compliance. Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP analyses.
Native-level fluency in Arabic with professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
Certifications (Preferred)Progression toward or possession of professional certifications (e.g., SOCPA, CMA, or ACCA ) is a strong advantage.
