The hotel features floor to ceiling windows, a Kids Club, supervised play area, and innovative dining concepts.
Job SummaryThe Reservation Agent provides the highest level of service to promote customer satisfaction while optimizing booking opportunities. Responsibilities include telephone sales, taking reservations for all food and beverage outlets, and handling reservation requests and correspondence.
Responsibilities- Master the room product: understand layout, attributes, benefits, and amenities to match the right product with specific guest needs.
- Be fully conversant with the hotel's rate structure, especially public rate offers, and highlight the unique perceived value during the selling process.
- Promote hotel facilities and services, and seize every opportunity to do so.
- Stay well informed of changes or new developments in the hotel product.
- Reflect the Shangri La philosophy by providing high quality service, maintaining a positive attitude, and fostering team spirit.
- Handle incoming reservation requests and correspondence, confirming or regretting based on the ARI (Availability, Rates & Inventory) strategy, and provide prompt turn around responses.
- At least 1 year of experience in a hotel.
- Ability to work long hours and in different shifts.
- Fluent communication in English and Arabic.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering great customer service.
- Professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Intermediate computer proficiency.
- Collegiate level degree.
- Flexibility in covering shifts.
- Previous experience in a reservations environment is a plus.
- Team player who collaborates with other departments to meet customer needs.
