Teaching Operations Assistant – Hourly Paid
Location:
Riyadh, Khobar & Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)
Duration: 1 year, renewable
Reports to:
Teaching Operations
Deliver high‑quality, efficient customer services to internal and external teaching centre customers, support the delivery of quality courses (especially Young Learners), and assist the Operations team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks that ensure the smooth running of the teaching centre.
Key Opportunities and Challenges- Support and assist the Teaching Centre’s operations and customer service in the day‑to‑day delivery of quality courses.
- Handle challenging Young Learner behaviour and communicate professionally and effectively with Young Learner parents.
- Deal with customers, students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Work evenings as required, as the centres operate to customer demand.
- Young Learner Support
- Act as a Young Learner Teaching Assistant, supporting teachers in delivering classes to children and monitoring learner behaviour.
- Ensure safeguarding and health and safety standards are met.
- Support teachers in and out of the classroom with Early Years, Early Primary, Primary, Early Secondary and Secondary students.
- Translate for lower levels where necessary.
- Assist with maintaining classroom behaviour management and support learners in participating in learning activities.
- Liaise with the YL coordinator, operations team and Customer Services Manager regarding absent learners and, if necessary, adult students.
- Customer Services
- Meet, greet and coordinate students on the first day of courses each term.
- Coordinate customer flow during registration periods by assisting and ushering students through the journey.
- Answer first‑level enquiries face‑to‑face or by phone in accordance with Customer Service Standards.
- Defer or refer second‑level enquiries to the appropriate person within the office.
- Respond appropriately to email and letter enquiries.
- Administration
- Monitor and update waiting lists in agreement with set standards.
- Notify customers of new classes, courses and any schedule changes.
- Handle registration forms, class lists, registers, timetables and other documents to agreed information‑management standards.
- Assist in the delivery of the teaching centre’s marketing and promotion strategy, including surveys and feedback forms.
- Prepare and print young learner and adult student reports.
- Add young learner students and modules to the LMS and support parents and students with LMS issues.
- Perform general office administrative and logistical tasks (filing, scanning, archiving, database updates).
- Maintain accurate records related to the work area.
- Safeguarding
- Abide by the British Council Safeguarding policy standards.
- Actively monitor young learners and adults for signs of distress and act promptly according to designated processes.
Internal: Teachers & Senior Teacher, Teaching Operations Team, Customer Services Team.
External: Customers, Parents/Guardians of Young Learners.
Requirements- Language: B1 level English (minimum). B1 level Arabic is desirable.
- Qualifications: High School Certificate (minimum). University Degree or Diploma in any field is desirable.
- Experience: Working or volunteering in a customer‑facing role, experience in an educational institution, experience working with children.
- Skills: Intermediate command of MS Excel, Word and Outlook; experience in a multicultural, international environment; ability to build effective relationships.
