The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the engineering, coordination, and technical support of mechanical systems in EPC projects, ensuring that designs, installations, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements throughout engineering, execution, and handover.

Description:

Prepare, review, and verify mechanical designs, calculations, and drawings

Develop technical specifications, datasheets, and BOQs for mechanical systems

Prepares procurement schedules, coordinates inspection plans, approvals, and implementation, and monitors accomplishments of mechanical works

Ensure designs comply with project requirements, international standards, and local regulations

Supervise installation of mechanical systems (e.g., piping, HVAC, pumps, valves)

Prepares mechanical and Electromechanical work plans, scope of work, bill of quantities, and cost estimates

Develops/reviews design drawings and as-built drawings of mechanical systems and coordinates approvals

Assists project execution teams in day-to-day mechanical work activities to accomplish project goals and objectives

Support procurement by preparing technical bid evaluations and vendor clarifications.

Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems

Ensure compliance with quality standards, inspection plans, and testing procedures

Ensure proper documentation, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals are completed

Responsible for correspondence, maintaining close coordination, and attending meetings with the client, consultants, and other involved agencies

Assures the maintenance and safeguarding of all documentation, approvals, progress reports, instructions, and other records

Responsible for successful completion and handing over of the completed mechanical systems and subsystems

Requirements

Special training, technology use, and language skills:

PMP Certificate
AutoCAD
Mechanical codes and standards
Basics of Electromechanical designs

Competencies:

Practical experience in the design/execution of mechanical systems and subsystems such as HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, overhead cranes, etc.
Expertise in mechanical systems for water, energy, or utility infrastructure
Knowledge of testing, commissioning, and operation of mechanical equipment
Capable of writing and presenting formal installation procedures and guidelines for mechanical installations
Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
Organized in tracking materials, schedules, and punch lists
Ability to work within project schedules and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Problem-solving skills, supervision skills, and guiding capabilities
Familiar with industrial security and safety requirements and their implementation

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
