SHES Specialist

Job Summary

Manage all activities related to Security, Health, and Environment & Safety across the company to ensure 100% security, health, environment & safety.

Job Location :
Industrial Area, Al Mahjar Phase 1

• Investigate industrial accidents, injuries & occupational diseases causes & take preventive measures.
• Report & review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections & environmental testing.
• Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
• Inspect facilities, machinery & safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards to ensure safety regulations in compliance to local and international safety regulations.
• Conduct & coordinate workers training in safety laws & regulations, hazardous condition monitoring & use of safety equipment.
• Review employee safety programs to determine employees obtained information on health & safety.
• Interview employers and employees about work environments and workplace incidents.
• Review plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
• Compile, analyze & interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
• Interpret safety regulations for safety engineers, labor representatives and safety inspectors.
• Recommend process safety methods to reduce employees' exposure to all types of hazards.
• Conduct testing of air quality, noise, temperature & radiation levels to verify compliance with health & safety regulations. Write and revise safety regulations and codes.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to organizations on how to handle health-related problems and make needed changes. Install safety devices on machinery, or direct device installation.
• Consult medical professionals to assess health risks & develop ways to manage health issues.
• Liase with fire, mutual aid societies & rescue teams so that emergency responses can be facilitated.
• Evaluate adequacy of actions taken to correct health inspection violations.
• Check floors of plants to ensure that they are strong enough to support heavy machinery.
• Plan and conduct industrial hygiene research, design and build safety equipment.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or any degree from Industrial background.

• Ability to efficiently & effectively plan & monitor tasks in a very organized & predictive manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic is Desirable.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in similar role.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
