Job Summary
The Technical Manager will lead and oversee the engineering and technical execution of power generation projects, with a strong focus on gas-fired generation technologies (e.g., combined cycle, open cycle, reciprocating engines). This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic project leadership, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead the technical planning, design, and execution of gas-based power generation projects from concept to commissioning.
- Engineering Oversight: Supervise multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, civil) and ensure alignment with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Technology Evaluation: Assess and select appropriate gas generation technologies (e.g., turbines, engines, CHP systems) based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and compliance.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Support cost estimation, procurement strategies, and scheduling to meet project milestones.
- Risk & Quality Management: Implement robust QA/QC procedures and risk mitigation strategies across all phases of the project.
- Sustainability & Efficiency: Promote energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and integration of digital tools (e.g., SCADA, predictive maintenance) in plant operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in power generation projects, with at least 5 years in gas-based systems
- Proven track record in managing large-scale EPC or IPP projects
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine technologies, thermodynamics, and grid interconnection
- Experience with natural gas-fired power plants projects
- Exposure to Middle East or emerging markets energy infrastructure
