Responsibilities
- Provides calibration and repair capability in support of all electronic test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment covered under the currently approved TAA.
- Provides training and on‑the‑job training (OJT) to laboratory and site personnel on new equipment as required, including site visits for training, evaluation, and technical assistance.
- Calibrates and/or repairs all electronic test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment in the calibration laboratory covered under the currently approved TAA.
- Helps develop new procedures and methods of performing calibration on new equipment using the standards available in the calibration facility.
- Performs precision calibration of state‑of‑the‑art electronic equipment as required.
- Develops test jigs, fixtures, and special test setups for calibration of newly acquired or special‑purpose equipment.
- Assists the section officer in enforcing safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other related duties as required or directed by the section officer.
- Strong background in digital electronics and RF / Microwave.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in calibration of electronic equipment.
- Deep understanding of the principles and concepts related to measurement, calibration, and instrumentation.
- Meticulous in work; carefully follow established procedures, document work, and ensure all measurements are accurate and reliable.
- Proficient in using computers and various software applications related to the work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Familiar with various types of measuring equipment and understand their operation, maintenance, and calibration requirements.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, including performing calculations and interpreting numerical data to ensure the accuracy of measurements and calibrations.
