Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Traffic Engineer with 5 + years of professional experience in transportation and traffic engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting traffic studies, developing traffic management plans, performing transportation analyses, and supporting the planning and design of road infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities- Conduct traffic impact assessments (TIA) and transportation studies for urban development and infrastructure projects.
- Perform traffic modeling, forecasting, and capacity analysis using industry-standard software.
- Develop traffic management plans (TMPs) for construction and operational phases of projects.
- Design and review traffic signal systems, road signage, pavement markings, and intersection layouts.
- Prepare traffic reports, technical specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Analyze traffic data collected through surveys, counts, and field observations.
- Coordinate with project managers, planners, highway engineers, and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international traffic engineering standards and regulations.
- Support road safety audits, traffic safety evaluations, and accident analysis studies.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing technical recommendations and solutions.
- Review consultant and contractor submissions related to traffic engineering works.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in traffic and transportation engineering.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles and traffic engineering standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Preferred fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in traffic modeling and simulation software such as SIDRA Intersection, VISSIM, VISUM, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in traffic impact studies and transportation planning.
- Knowledge of international standards such as AASHTO, MUTCD, HCM, and local authority requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Team‑oriented mindset with leadership potential.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with GCC/Middle East transportation regulations and authority requirements.
- Experience coordinating with municipalities, transport authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Quality and accuracy of traffic engineering deliverables.
- Compliance with project schedules and budgets.
- Successful approval of traffic studies by authorities.
- Implementation of safe and efficient traffic management solutions.
- Client satisfaction and project support effectiveness.
