Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints specifications and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for projects ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and scope facilitating accurate estimation of resources and timelines.
- Research and evaluate labor material and overhead costs by consulting historical data and industry benchmarks to enhance estimation reliability.
- Utilize advanced estimation software and tools to create comprehensive cost models improving efficiency and accuracy in the estimation process.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is essential.
- Certification in Cost Estimating (e.g., Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst) is highly preferred to demonstrate expertise in the field.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction estimation or project management is required for effective performance.
- Proven experience in the construction or engineering industry is essential, with specific knowledge of structural, mechanical, or electrical estimation.
