JobPurpose
The Financial Business Analyst is responsible for independently preparing, analyzing, and improving management reporting across the Group and its business units. The role owns monthly P&L reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, performance analysis, and management presentations. It converts financial and operational data into clear business insights, challenges results where necessary, and improves recurring reports through standardization, automation, and effective use of ERP, business intelligence, and AI-enabled tools.
Key Responsibilities1. Monthly P&L and Management Reporting
- Prepare accurate monthly P&L reports for assigned companies, channels, and business units within agreed timelines.
- Reconcile management reports to the general ledger and investigate material differences with Accounting.
- Maintain reporting mappings, allocation logic, chart-of-accounts structures, and standardized reporting templates.
- Prepare clear monthly performance summaries for the Finance Manager, ExCom, and Board reporting packs.
- Support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario models in coordination with business owners.
- Review and challenge assumptions for sales, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, and cash flow.
- Track actual performance against budget, forecast, and prior year, and provide reliable outlook updates.
- Build sensitivity and what-if analyses to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Analyze revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, net profit, margins, expenses, and key operational drivers.
- Assess profitability by company, channel, customer, category, product, store, project, or other relevant dimension.
- Identify root causes behind variances and translate findings into practical actions for management.
- Evaluate promotions, pricing, inventory movements, commercial initiatives, and special business requests as required.
- Analyze inventory, receivables, payables, and cash conversion drivers and highlight emerging risks.
- Support weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting by validating expected collections, payments, and key assumptions.
- Monitor slow-moving inventory, overdue receivables, supplier commitments, and other material balance-sheet exposures.
- Coordinate with Treasury, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Accounting teams to improve forecast accuracy and follow-up.
- Validate source data and reconcile information across ERP, sales, inventory, courier, and other operating systems.
- Work closely with Accounting to ensure transactions are complete, correctly classified, and ready for management reporting.
- Partner with Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and subsidiary teams to understand performance drivers.
- Follow up independently on missing inputs, unresolved variances, and action items until closure.
- Automate recurring reports and analysis using advanced Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and other approved tools.
- Improve reporting models so outputs are repeatable, controlled, easy to refresh, and less dependent on manual work.
