We are currently seeking a Government Relations Coordinator who will serve as the principal liaison between the project team, local authorities, regulatory agencies, and relevant stakeholders. The role is pivotal for ensuring all necessary permits, approvals, and communications are managed effectively and in compliance with Saudi regulations, with special attention to the administrative landscape in Jeddah. The coordinator will proactively facilitate governmental processes and contribute to building positive relationships to support the successful delivery of the preliminary design phase of the Metro Line.
Responsibilities- Facilitate effective communication between the project, government entities, and all external stakeholders at municipal, regional, and national levels.
- Manage and track all required governmental permits, licenses, and authorizations for project work, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
- Prepare, review, and submit official correspondence, documentation, and reports in accordance with government and project requirements.
- Foster and maintain constructive relationships with government officials, agencies, and regulatory bodies to support project activities and resolve issues efficiently.
- Identify and address potential obstacles arising from governmental processes or stakeholder interactions. Propose solutions and act as the point of contact for resolving issues.
- Support to Project leadership
- Advise project management on government protocols and the local regulatory landscape. Sup-port strategic planning around stakeholder topics relating to approvals and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all communications, approvals, and submissions.
- Organize and attend project-related meetings with government authorities and represent the project with professionalism.
- Ensure project activities adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory, and administrative requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public relations management, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 8 years of practical experience in government relations, stakeholder management, or a similar function.
- We particularly welcome applications from candidates with professional experience in stake-holder management with local authorities and regulatory agencies in Saudi Arabia.
- At least 4 years of demonstrated experience working in Jeddah, with a strong understanding of local governance and administrative protocols.
- Hands on experience in coordinating complex, project-related work and managing relationships among multiple stakeholders, including large scale infrastructure projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to facilitate solutions in a government or stake holder context.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
