Network Engineer

Our client is seeking skilled Network Engineers to join their team. The successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and optimizing the network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. The role involves day-to-day operations, incident and problem management, capacity planning, and the implementation of best practices in network security.

• Monitor network performance in real-time, tracking metrics such as bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss.
• Manage and maintain all network components within UAQ, including switches, routers, links, IP telephony, and video conferencing systems.
• Proactively identify and resolve network issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement performance optimization techniques and high-availability measures for critical network components.
• Keep the network environment updated with the latest patches and operating system upgrades.
• Respond rapidly to network incidents and outages to minimize downtime.
• Triage and prioritize incidents effectively, coordinating resolution efforts with relevant teams.
• Identify and resolve recurring network problems to enhance reliability.
• Implement preventive measures to minimize future incidents and conduct root cause analysis to prevent similar issues.

• Implement change management procedures to minimize risks associated with network changes.
• Coordinate change activities with other IT teams to ensure smooth transitions.

• Forecast future network requirements to support business growth.
• Plan for network expansions and upgrades, optimizing resource utilization for maximum efficiency.

• Monitor the network security posture to detect and respond to security threats.
• Implement and adhere to security best practices, ensuring the network remains secure and compliant.

• Proven experience in network monitoring, management, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of network components such as switches, routers, IP telephony, and video conferencing systems.
• Experience in incident and problem management with a focus on rapid response and resolution.
• Familiarity with change management and capacity planning processes.
• Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.
