Department:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PACS Administrator to join our Radiology Services team at Al Salama Hospital, ensuring the effective management, maintenance, and optimization of the hospital's Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) — supporting physicians, technicians, and medical staff in delivering seamless, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade all PACS-associated hardware and software to ensure optimal system performance.
- Maintain day‑to‑day PACS/RIS operations, including image workflow, archiving, auto‑routing, and auto‑perfecting.
- Maintain HL7 interfaces between the Hospital Information System (HIS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Monitor and troubleshoot daily PACS operations, investigate system issues, and meet result turnaround times.
- Ensure timely and accurate capture of DICOM image data and manage importing and archiving of images from external sources.
- Fulfill image distribution requests, manage DICOM CDs/DVDs, and send secure links to patients via the patient portal.
- Participate in QI, QA, and QC activities, and provide training and support to radiology staff and end-users.
- Maintain patient information confidentiality and ensure compliance with hospital policies and workplace safety regulations.
- Graduate degree or 3-year Diploma in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Biomedical, or Electrical & Electronics.
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Medical Sciences or Healthcare Management is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a PACS and/or RIS System Administrator within a healthcare institution.
- Advanced knowledge of PACS and RIS operations and radiology workflow.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office automation systems.
- Solid understanding of quality management systems and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary departments.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to patient confidentiality and data integrity.
