Role Description
:
An Informatica / BDM Technical Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and implementing enterprise-scale data integration and Data Lakehouse solutions using Informatica technologies. The architect defines end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks across Big Data platforms such as Cloudera, Hadoop, and Spark while ensuring scalability, performance, data governance, and real-time integration capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
- Define and govern end-to-end Informatica DEI/BDM architecture aligned with the Data Lakehouse strategy.
- Design enterprise data integration patterns for batch, micro-batch, and real-time processing.
- Establish architecture standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices across development and operations.
- Review and approve technical designs, mappings, workflows, and deployment models.
Data Lakehouse Integration
- Design ingestion and transformation pipelines across:
- Source Systems ->
Bronze - Bronze ->
Silver - Silver ->
Gold - Gold -> FS-LDM / FSAS
- Architect scalable ETL/ELT solutions for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Ensure metadata-driven development and reusable integration components.
Informatica DEI / BDM Development Governance
- Lead architecture and governance of:
- Informatica DEI
- Informatica Big Data Management (BDM)
- Blaze Engine
- Spark-based processing
- Define coding standards, deployment standards, and performance guidelines.
- Mentor development teams and conduct architecture reviews.
Real-Time Data Integration
- Architect real-time and near real-time integration using:
- Informatica Power Exchange
- CDC (Change Data Capture)
- Event-driven ingestion patterns
- Kafka integration
- Ensure low-latency, scalable, and resilient integration frameworks.
Big Data & Cloud Processing
- Design Informatica execution frameworks on:
- Cloudera Data Platform (CDP)
- Hadoop Ecosystem
- Spark Clusters
- Optimize distributed processing, workload balancing, and resource utilization.
Metadata & Data Governance
- Implement metadata management, lineage, and impact analysis.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards.
- Support data quality, reconciliation, validation, and auditability requirements.
Performance & Optimization
- Define optimization strategies for:
- Mappings
- Workflows
- Blaze executions
- Spark jobs
- Ensure scalability, fault tolerance, high availability, and operational excellence.
- Support 24x7 production environments and critical BFSI workloads.
Database & Enterprise Integration
- Design integrations with:
- Oracle
- Teradata
- SQL Server
- APIs
- Messaging platforms
- Optimize source extraction and target load performance.
Assessment & Expansion
- Review existing Informatica implementations.
- Identify design, scalability, and performance gaps.
- Lead remediation, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
- Support onboarding of new data sources and business domains.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Enterprise Architects

- Business Stakeholders
- Participate in architecture governance boards and design reviews.
- Provide technical leadership across onsite and offshore teams.

- Knowledge of Data Vault, FSLDM, FSAS, and Medallion Architecture.
Experience
- 10–15+ years in enterprise data integration and architecture.
- Minimum 5+ years as Informatica DEI/BDM Architect.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale BFSI Data Lakehouse or Data Warehouse transformation programs.
- Experience managing hybrid onsite-offshore delivery models.
