Teradata DBA Administrator & Hardware Support
Level: Mid-Senior | 5–10 years’ experience
Engagement: 12 month FIXED term contract
The RoleMy client is looking for an experienced Teradata DBA Administrator & Hardware Support Engineer to take ownership of the administration, monitoring, performance, maintenance and L2/L3 support of their Teradata Vantage platform.
You will work across production and non-production environments, supporting Teradata Vantage 16/17.x, Intelli Flex, VMware and the wider Teradata ecosystem
, while ensuring high availability, performance, security and operational stability.
- Install, configure and administer Teradata Vantage 16/17.x across Intelli Flex and VMware environments.
- Manage and support Viewpoint, Query Grid, Data Mover, BCM and Data Stream Utility
. - Monitor system health, query performance and resource utilization using Teradata Viewpoint
. - Perform performance tuning, query optimization and TASM/workload management
. - Manage backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes using Data Stream Utility and BCM
. - Support data migration, replication and refresh activities using Data Mover
. - Configure and support Query Grid for cross-platform data access.
- Manage database users, roles, permissions and security controls.
- Perform patching, upgrades and platform maintenance
, ensuring compatibility across the Teradata ecosystem. - Provide L2/L3 production and non-production support
, troubleshooting database, platform and infrastructure issues.
- 5–10 years of hands-on Teradata DBA / platform administration experience.
- Strong experience with Teradata Vantage 16/17.x.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Query Grid
- Data Mover
- Business Continuity Manager (BCM)
- Data Stream Utility
- Intelli Flex
- VMware
- Strong SQL, performance tuning and workload management/TASM capabilities.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting
. - Knowledge of REST APIs, CLIv2 and data integration technologies
. - Experience supporting enterprise-scale production environments and resolving complex infrastructure/database issues.
