Job Description
As a Windows System Administrator, you will play a key role in the administration, support, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise Microsoft infrastructure services. Working alongside experienced infrastructure and operations teams, you will help maintain highly available Windows Server environments, Active Directory services, virtualization platforms, and core networking services. L1 Administrators will focus on day-to-day operations, user administration, system monitoring, and incident resolution, while L2 Administrators will lead advanced troubleshooting, automation, infrastructure optimization, and problem management initiatives.
The successful candidates will contribute to maintaining secure, stable, and scalable IT systems that support critical business operations across the organization.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Manage Active Directory users, groups, organizational units, permissions, and security policies.
- Configure and support Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across the enterprise environment.
- Monitor server health, capacity utilization, service availability, and system performance metrics.
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, and Windows networking services.
- Perform routine patch management, system updates, and security compliance activities.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents within agreed service levels.
- Support VMware and virtualized server environments.
- Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Automate administrative tasks using Power Shell scripting (L2 role).
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues (L2 role).
- Optimize server performance, security hardening, and infrastructure reliability (L2 role).
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support infrastructure projects and system upgrades.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Windows Server administration within enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management.
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security policies.
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Windows-based networking services.
- Experience with Windows Server monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with server patching, updates, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience supporting VMware or similar virtualization platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
- For L2 candidates, advanced experience with Power Shell scripting, automation, infrastructure optimization, and enterprise-level troubleshooting is required.
- Understanding of backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or related Microsoft certifications. - Experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra (Azure Active Directory) and identity management solutions.
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Solar Winds, SCOM, Zabbix, or PRTG.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, service management tools, and change management practices.
