Linnk Group is seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer specializing in Optical Transport and DWDM technologies to support large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a hands‑on technical professional with strong expertise in DWDM/OTN implementation, commissioning, site supervision, and vendor management within live carrier‑grade network environments.

As a Resident Engineer – Optical Transport / DWDM, you will serve as the technical representative overseeing the deployment, commissioning, acceptance, and operational readiness of optical transport infrastructure projects. You will coordinate closely with operators, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure all works are completed in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and operational requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising field activities, validating installations, managing acceptance processes, and ensuring safe execution within live telecommunications environments.
This role offers the opportunity to work on critical transmission infrastructure, including Cable Landing Stations (CLS), Data Centres, and high‑capacity DWDM/OTN backbone networks.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of DWDM and OTN transmission systems.
- Oversee contractor and vendor activities on behalf of the telecom operator or client.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Manage end‑to‑end site implementation activities across optical transport infrastructure projects.
- Conduct technical inspections and verify installation quality for fibre, racks, power systems, and transmission equipment.
- Validate optical network performance using OTDR, OSNR, ORL, optical power, insertion loss, CD, and PMD measurements.
- Support deployment activities within Cable Landing Stations (CLS) and Data Centre environments.
- Review and approve Method of Procedures (MOPs), Permit to Work (PTW) documentation, and implementation plans.
- Manage punch‑list items, NCRs, corrective actions, and project closeout activities.
- Ensure accurate as‑built documentation, acceptance reports, and operational handover packages.
- Coordinate maintenance windows and implementation activities within live telecom networks while minimizing service impact.
- Prepare technical reports, project status updates, risk assessments, and acceptance documentation.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between customers, operators, vendors, and project delivery teams.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Optical Transport and Transmission Network implementation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising contractors or vendors on behalf of a telecom operator, carrier, or client.
- Strong hands‑on expertise in DWDM and OTN installation, commissioning, testing, and network acceptance.
- Experience working within Cable Landing Stations (CLS) and/or Data Centre environments.
- Proficiency in optical testing methodologies and performance measurement techniques.
- Strong understanding of OTDR, OSNR, ORL, Optical Power, Insertion Loss, Chromatic Dispersion (CD), and Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD).
- Experience with ODFs, MMRs, fibre routing systems, structured cabling, and rack/power installations.
- Strong knowledge of telecom implementation standards, quality assurance, and acceptance procedures.
- Experience managing NCRs, punch‑list closures, and project handover processes.
