Responsible for managing all activities related to the customs clearance process for import and export shipments. This includes ensuring accurate preparation and submission of all required documentation, full compliance with Saudi customs and regulatory requirements, coordination with customs brokers and internal teams, and ensuring the efficient and timely release and delivery of shipments.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Saudi customs procedures and regulatory frameworks, along with hands‑on experience using digital clearance platforms such as FASAH, SABER, and Bayan.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Manage customs brokers at ports to ensure smooth and efficient clearance of shipments.
- Prepare, verify, and submit complete and accurate customs declarations in compliance with Saudi Customs regulations and applicable trade laws.
- Liaise with Saudi Customs and relevant regulatory bodies to ensure smooth processing, clearance approvals, and cargo release, including coordination with port operations
- Coordinate freight forwarders, transporters, and internal departments to ensure seamless movement and tracking of shipments.
- Ensure strict compliance with Saudi Customs laws, HS classification, valuation rules, duty calculations, VAT regulations, and import/export requirements.
- Utilize and manage transactions through official systems such as FASAH, SABER, and Bayan for declarations, certifications, and approvals.
- Handle customs inspections, document verifications, and regulatory queries while resolving clearance holds or discrepancies efficiently.
- Stay updated with the latest changes in Saudi customs laws, procedures, and compliance standards to ensure operational alignment.
- Maintain complete and organized records of customs transactions to support audits, reporting, and compliance reviews.
- Support internal teams and clients by providing accurate guidance on customs procedures, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Actively monitor and reduce costs related to demurrage, detention, penalties, and customs delays through proactive coordination and control.
- Liaise with and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory and government authorities including Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO/SABER), Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Energy, Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA/VAT), and other relevant regulatory bodies across the GCC to ensure smooth operations, efficient issue resolution, and regulatory alignment.
- Ensure full compliance with import and export regulations related to FMCG, cosmetics, chemicals, raw and packaging materials, and factory equipment, while ensuring adherence to all applicable Saudi and GCC regulatory requirements.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in customs clearance operations within KSA.
- Strong understanding of Saudi Customs procedures, classification, valuation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Practical experience with Saudi government systems such as FASAH, SABER, and Bayan.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
