Role OverviewWe are seeking a Purchase Specialist to manage international purchasing activities within the medical and healthcare sector. The ideal candidate should have experience in purchasing/procurement, with strong hands-on experience sourcing and purchasing from international markets, including North America, Asia, and other global markets.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end international purchasing and procurement activities for medical equipment and products.
- Source and coordinate purchases from international suppliers across global markets.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and reliability.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure accuracy of pricing, quantities, specifications, and delivery terms.
- Coordinate with international suppliers regarding quotations, orders, shipments, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers where required.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up on outstanding shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements and ensure products meet specifications.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and procurement reports.
- Support the procurement team in maintaining strong supplier relationships and achieving cost-effective purchasing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in purchasing/procurement.
- Strong experience in international purchasing is required.
- Experience dealing with suppliers across North America, Asia, and other international markets.
- Experience handling purchase orders, supplier coordination, quotations, and international shipments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple purchasing activities simultaneously.
- Experience in the medical products industry is highly preferred.
- Strong international procurement and supplier management skills.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong follow-up and coordination abilities.
- Good understanding of purchasing processes and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Good command of English, particularly for communication with international suppliers.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines.
