Patriot Major Item Repairman (MIR)
Senior Field Engineer I – Field Engineering supports the HAWK and Patriot Sustainment Contract (HPSC) Program. The MIR provides in‑depth system knowledge and field experience related to the theory of operation and troubleshooting skills required to resolve complex Patriot missile system Major End Items (MEI). They functionally verify that the MEIs perform to specified standards, install authorized third echelon modifications, and oversee refurbishment and modification processes.
The MIR demonstrates depot‑level diagnostic, fault isolation, cleanup, and repair capability for PATRIOT Weapon System MEIs. Responsibilities also include monitoring subordinate work to ensure quality standards, utilizing built‑in test (BITE) software and external test equipment, participating in on‑the‑job training (OJT) programs, enforcing safety policies, procedures, and standards, and performing other duties as directed.
Saudi Arabia
Responsibilities- Provide in‑depth system knowledge and field experience related to Patriot missile system operation and troubleshooting.
- Functionally verify that Major End Items perform to specified standards.
- Install authorized third echelon modifications and oversee refurbishment and modification processes.
- Perform depot‑level diagnostic, fault isolation, cleanup, and repair of METs.
- Conduct electronic repairs on location using available hardware and software tools.
- Monitor subordinate work and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize diagnostics, BITE software, and external test equipment to isolate and troubleshoot system faults.
- Participate in OJT programs and assist the section officer in enforcing safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform additional duties and activities as directed.
- Minimum 4 years of field maintenance experience troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, and functional verification of the Patriot Air Defense system or similar electronic systems.
- Direct maintenance experience on the ECS, RS, and LS.
- Ability to implement and install approved ECPs on equipment.
- Experience with Department of the Army Modification Work Order (DAMWO) installations, including integration and checkout.
- Successful completion of a Patriot System Intermediate Maintenance Course for MOS 27X, 34S, 94S, 916A, or 918D, or equivalent instruction.
- Ability to obtain a Saudi Arabia work visa.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued SECRET security clearance (required prior to start).
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Preferred: 5 years of Patriot Depot Forward maintenance experience.
- Experience with Raytheon Quality Control procedures.
- Experience with Patriot refurbishment, modification, and system integration & checkout (SICO) process.
- Experience with Contractor Logistics Support.
- Demonstrated comprehensive planning skills.
- Exceptional judgment and decision‑making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on active participation across the business.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project.
- Experience training team members.
- Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs.
- Experience living and working in an overseas location.
- Educational requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience. - Alternatively, a high school degree/GED with equivalent job‑related experience based on four additional years of experience for each year of higher education.
- Certified Patriot System Repairer 94S.
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience. A high school degree/GED may be acceptable with additional years of experience as outlined above.
