Job Description:
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of decorators and associated machinery within the can manufacturing facility to ensure optimal operational efficiency and product quality.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on decorators, including ink systems, coating units, and drying ovens, to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on decorator equipment and execute timely repairs to restore functionality.
- Install new decorator machinery and ancillary equipment, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and integration with existing production lines.
- Conduct regular inspections of decorator components, identifying worn parts and potential malfunctions, and initiating corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues related to decorator performance, such as print registration, ink adhesion, and coating consistency.
- Calibrate and adjust decorator settings to achieve specified print and coating quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during maintenance and repair operations.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize decorator performance and improve overall line efficiency.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians or operators on decorator operation and basic maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to decorator technology and maintenance practices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, specifically with industrial printing or decorating machinery, preferably within a can manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues and perform effective repairs.
- Experience with precision alignment and calibration of industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
