Position: CLINICAL ENGINEER II

Summary

Provides for the technical support of medical, diagnostic, therapeutic and analytical devices and systems, utilized for applied patient healthcare and healthcare research.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provides for the demand and scheduled preventative maintenance of assigned medical and research equipment, Follows manufacturers' guidelines for this scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Is competent in the basic operation and application of assigned medical and research equipment.
  • Reviews schematic drawings, manufacturer's instructions and manuals or obtains verbal instructions to diagnose technical problems and facilitates repair and preventative maintenance utilizing this information.
  • Utilizes all required testing instrumental and hand tools required to facilitate repair and preventative maintenance of assigned medical equipment.
  • Provides for user education and instruction, as required.
  • Trains and guides Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP participants, Student Interns and other Clinical Engineering staff on the technical support of medical technology, as required.
  • Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
  • Participates in self and others' education, training & development, as applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Education

    Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Technology, or other related discipline is required.

    Experience Required

    Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s is required.
