Eastwest Group of Companies (RL0980) - QC Inspector (Piping / Welding) Job Description / Responsibility
- Conduct inspection of piping, welding, and fabrication activities in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, international codes, and client requirements.
- Perform visual inspection (VT) of weld joints, fit-up, edge preparation, alignment, and dimensional checks before, during, and after welding.
- Verify Welder Qualification Records (WQT), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and ensure compliance with approved welding procedures.
- Coordinate and witness Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) activities such as RT, UT, MT, PT, and review test reports.
- Monitor material receiving, identification, traceability, storage, and preservation in compliance with project quality requirements.
- Inspect piping installation, flange alignment, supports, bolt tightening, and ensure proper installation according to P&, isometric drawings, and construction standards.
- Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, flushing, and leak tests, and prepare inspection reports.
- Raise Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify close‑out.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation including Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), inspection reports, punch lists, weld maps, and quality records.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, NDT, and client representatives to resolve quality‑related issues.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO, and client‑specific quality standards.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and support project quality management activities.
- Promote workplace safety by ensuring all inspection activities comply with HSE regulations and permit‑to‑work requirements.
- Perform final inspections and support project mechanical completion, pre‑commissioning, and handover documentation.
- Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg)
- Diploma in Mechanical
- Skills Required:
Industrial & Production Engineering, Plant Operation, Oil and Gas System Maintaining, QA/QC Welding, pipelines, Manufacturing (Heavy Industry)
- At least 8 years
- Experience in Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry)
- Oil & Gas Fields Experienced, ex‑Aramco approved candidates will be the 1st priority.
- For QC Welder - Oil & Gas Fields Experiences with Valid AWS/CSWIP Certificate.
- Ex‑Aramco approved as piping inspector – Has knowledge of SAEP 385 (PIPING, Equip., steel, …etc)
- Welding Inspector – Certified as an American Welding Society CWI, CSWIP 3.1 Certified Welding Inspector, or COMPANY approved equivalent. Demonstrated background with thorough knowledge of codes such as ASME B 31.3, 31.4, 31.8, ASME Section V and IX, API 620, 650, AWS D1.1. When NDT forms part of the work, the candidate shall be qualified and certified to a minimum ASNT Level II in the relevant method(s).
When performing, reviewing or ensuring NDT in VT, MT, PT, RT or UT, the candidate shall be certified in the specific method(s). When performing, reviewing or ensuring Radiographic Testing Film Interpretation (RTFI), the inspector shall be certified in RTFI.
