Job Overview

The R&D Coordinator supports the sensory and product development agenda by executing sensory evaluations and R&D lab analyses for both existing and new products. The role prepares samples, runs tests, manages panels operationally, and analyzes data to generate reliable inputs that guide formulation decisions, quality improvements, and launch readiness.

This role is responsible for day‑to‑day operation of the sensory lab and R&D lab, ensuring that methods, equipment, and documentation meet company standards for safety, quality, and compliance. Working closely with the Sensory & Product Development Manager, R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Operations, the Sensory & R&D Lab Executive helps translate scientific principles into practical, business‑relevant results that move projects forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all departmental reports related to sensory and lab activities are prepared accurately and submitted on time, following company formats and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures across sensory and lab activities.
  • Maintain audit‑ready records for tests, calibrations, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Execute sensory tasks for existing and new products according to agreed test plans and protocols.
  • Prepare samples (coding, portioning, serving conditions, randomization), test spaces, and materials for sensory sessions.
  • Actively practice safety and good laboratory practices; ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to lab SOPs.
  • Collect, code, prepare, and test samples for relevant physical, chemical, or basic microbiological analyses as per R&D / QA methods.
  • Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment, and keep tidy, organized work spaces and storage areas.
  • Order and maintain lab stock (consumables, reagents, reference materials) within agreed limits, coordinating with Procurement and R&D.
  • Collect, record, and validate sensory and lab data with high attention to detail.
  • Use agreed templates and tools (e.g., Excel, basic statistical summaries) to summarize test outcomes.
  • Draft concise technical summaries and first‑level interpretations, to be reviewed and completed by the Sensory & Product Development Manager, highlighting any anomalies or risks.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field.
  • Strong Data analysis & reporting skills
  • Understanding of Lap Quality Standards
  • 0–2 years of experience in a food or FMCG lab, sensory, or product development
