The Business Development Manager handles local and international companies with individual and group travel potential for the hotel. Under the guidance of the Director of Sales and Director of Business Development, the manager implements all sales activities and action plans in the marketing plan of the hotel and maximizes business opportunities in his/her area of responsibility.
Responsibilities- Maximize upselling opportunities whenever possible.
- Develop and execute effective business development strategies that will ensure a continued and sustainable profitable growth for rooms as well as all revenue centers.
- Maintain a high level of exposure for the hotel in the major market area through direct sales, telephone, fax, and written communication.
- Implement sales policies and procedures of the hotel and Shangri-La Hotel and Resorts.
- Build positive working relationships with all departments of the hotel; ensure understanding of sales programs and the wants, needs and expectations of customers/guests.
- Maintain active communication and build teamwork amongst the sales team and other marketing departments, e.g., Events Management, Communications, Reservations, to achieve commitment to the overall sales objective of the hotel.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and compliance with established guidelines and standards related to the hotel.
- 3 years' experience in Hotel Sales & Marketing
- Communicates and writes with fluency in English (as well as Arabic)
- Ability and willingness to work long hours.
- Neat, articulate, and pleasant appearance.
