Security Systems Installation Technician

1. Project Deployment & Team Contribution- Contribute as part of a project deployment team supporting installation activities.
- Perform site surveys and contribute to the Site Readiness Review
, ensuring work areas meet deployment requirements. - Verify that assigned installation tasks comply with customer requirements and the approved installation schedule.
- Communicate promptly with the Installation Engineer regarding any case where installation or testing activities are not executed properly.
- Ensure the quality, security, and suitability of all work performed in accordance with company and project standards.
- Install a wide range of security system components, including CCTV cameras (IP, thermal, radar), access control devices, intrusion systems, perimeter security hardware, and field devices.
- Execute structured cabling work for both fiber and copper, including routing, dressing, labeling, and termination.
- Read engineering drawings (riser diagrams, cable schedules, layouts) and execute installation activities with high accuracy.
- Provide technical support to customers, Thales teams, and subcontractors for installation-related issues.
- Identify and solve installation problems in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
- Perform cable arrangement, dressing, and termination work specifically for data centers and equipment rooms
. - Install and maintain racks, network cabinets, PDUs, patch panels, and cable management systems.
- Take part in equipment installation, configuration,
unit testing
, and verification activities required before systems are handed over for commissioning. - Assist Post Installation Check Out (PICO) activities in coordination with engineering and commissioning teams.
- Contribute to integration testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support activities when requested by project technical specialists.
- Record test‑related results in measurement sheets and prepare relevant reports, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Perform system monitoring using project monitoring tools and report any deviations, alarms, or defects.
- Conduct daily reporting on system operational issues and support PCR (Project Change Request) creation when required.
- Ensure test and measurement equipment is maintained and calibrated according to standards.
- Coordinate effectively with civil, electrical, networking, and subcontractor teams on‑site.
- Support internal and external teams to resolve installation conflicts or technical challenges.
- Maintain continuous communication with project management and technical leads to ensure smooth workflow.
- 5–8 years of experience in security systems, low‑voltage installation, and structured cabling.
- Strong background in datacenter cabling, copper/fiber termination, and rack infrastructure.
- Experience participating in site readiness, PICO, unit testing support, and field verification activities.
- Experience with large‑scale deployments (metros, airports, smart cities, industrial sites).
- Expert in fiber and copper cabling installation, termination, and dressing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with precision.
- Knowledge of IP networking basics (IP addressing, connectivity troubleshooting, PoE).
- Experience with installation of major security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools and operational reporting procedures.
- Competence in maintaining and calibrating test & measurement equipment.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Problem‑solving ability and proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecommunications, or related fields.
- Additional vocational or professional training in structured cabling or security systems is an advantage.
