The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation for GCC countries has an opening for a position of:
Air Operations Officer (Based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) with possible travels both internally and externally KSA nationals only
The ICRC is a neutral, independent and impartial humanitarian organisation that seeks to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. It is present in more than 80 countries. The ICRC’s regional delegation in Kuwait covers the GCC countries, where it promotes international humanitarian law, raises awareness of humanitarian issues, and handles matters arising from armed conflicts in the region.
PURPOSEAir Operations Officer is responsible for coordinating ground operations in Jeddah to ensure proper transport of passengers, luggage, cargo and diplomatic pouch. AOO2 is responsible for the Welcome services in Jeddah for passengers (customs processes, transit, hotel, ground transportation).
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:Air Operations
- Coordinate passenger, baggage, cargo, and diplomatic pouch movements.
- Support passenger check-in, boarding, and provide travel briefings.
- Supervise aircraft ground operations, including loading/unloading and refueling.
- Assist flight crews with flight planning and weather information.
- Monitor aircraft movements and communicate schedules, departures, arrivals, and operational updates.
- Ensure weight and balance documentation is received and filed.
- Obtain flight, security, and landing clearances and permits.
- Liaise with airport authorities, ground handlers, fuel providers, customs, immigration, and security authorities.
- Monitor changes in aviation regulations and airport operating procedures.
- Distribute flight schedules to relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Air Ops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor the security situation and promptly report risks or operational issues.
- Report safety, compliance, and operational concerns to Air Ops management.
- Coordinate closely with security focal points and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate visas, travel documentation, transport, and accommodation for staff.
- Arrange airport pickups, hotel bookings, and staff residences.
- Liaise with ministries, consulates, and immigration authorities.
- Coordinate staff travel plans with Welcome and Air Ops teams.
- Resolve accommodation and travel-related issues.
- Education degree in relevant fields (e.g., logistics or aviation)
- Fluent command of English and Arabic both written and spoken.
- Computer proficiency (Windows environment, Microsoft, and online collaboration tools).
- 1-3 years’ overall related professional experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in with airline, flight department or airport
- Work experience in a field related to air transportation is desired
- Ramp experience is an advantage
