The Sea Freight Broker is responsible for managing end-to-end sea freight brokerage and customs clearance activities for import and export shipments at Jeddah Islamic Port. The role ensures timely cargo clearance, compliance with ZATCA and other regulatory authorities, and effective coordination with shipping lines, terminal operators, customs officials, transport providers, and customers to ensure smooth cargo movement through the port.

Job Description
  • Manage customs clearance activities for sea import and export shipments through Jeddah Islamic Port.
  • Prepare, verify, and submit customs declarations via FASAH and other required government platforms.
  • Review and validate shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (B/L), Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Import/Export Permits.
  • Ensure accurate HS Code classification, customs valuation, and duty/tax calculations.
  • Coordinate with ZATCA, port authorities, shipping lines, terminal operators, inspection agencies, and other government entities to expedite cargo release.
  • Monitor vessel arrivals, container discharge, customs inspections, and cargo release activities.
  • Follow up on container availability, delivery orders, gate passes, and terminal release procedures.
  • Coordinate with transport providers to ensure timely container collection and final delivery.
  • Resolve customs holds, inspection findings, documentation discrepancies, and shipment delays.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Customs regulations, ZATCA requirements, and other applicable government regulations.
  • Provide proactive shipment status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain complete and accurate shipment documentation and operational records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce customs clearance lead times and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize FASAH, SABER, SFDA, and other applicable government platforms to support customs clearance activities.
  • Maintain proficiency in freight forwarding and customs systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
  • 2-5 years of experience in Sea Freight Operations or Customs Brokerage.
  • Hands-on experience working at Jeddah Islamic Port or another Saudi seaport.
  • Strong understanding of import and export customs procedures and port operations.
  • Experience dealing with shipping lines, container terminals, and government authorities.
