Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office of Childhood, Child Care Compliance and Regulation sections provide regulatory oversight and support to approximately 2,700 child care providers across Missouri. Our mission is to assure the health, safety, growth, and development of Missouri’s children through a regulatory process to prevent injury, risk, or harm to dependent children in out‑of‑home child care settings.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the Compliance section.
- Receive visitors and answer telephone calls, transfer calls, receive and relay messages to others as needed following internal customer services guidelines.
- Receive and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
- Maintain filing and archive files in order to facilitate retrieval of documents at a later date.
- Schedule meetings and hotel rooms as necessary.
- Manage and maintain general email and fax accounts.
- Attend and take meeting minutes for section as needed.
- Assist section with administrative duties as needed.
- Proofread documents prior to mailing or sending out to the public.
- Compile information relative to supplies, office equipment, replacement or additions to equipment, etc.
- Operate various office equipment, such as calculator, computer and software programs, copy machine, etc.
- Assists other sections with phone coverage as needed.
- Assists other sections with administrative duties as needed. gt;
- Assists with conference room scheduling, conference room equipment, etc.
- Assists with budget preparation, reviews bills for payment, etc.
- Assists with training other support staff personnel as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.
Assists section leaders and other personnel with office procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or High School Equivalency.
- One to three years of clerical and secretarial work.
