Job DescriptionTo provide required classroom instruction to operate a class D motor vehicle, maintain student records and issue documentation according to the Missouri Driver Education Rules.
Individual Must Document And Demonstrate Competency Of The Following- Knowledge of the classroom curriculum for class D motor vehicles
- Ability to identify and apply current state law and regulations applicable to the ownership and operation of a class D vehicle
- Organization of lessons and preparation to conduct classroom instruction
- Ability to maintain a learning environment and management of a class
- Ability to assess, monitor and adjust performance as necessary
- Time management
- Record keeping in compliance
- Written communication skills
- Ability to contact first aid resources in the event of an emergency
- Oral instruction presentation and delivery techniques
- Ability to use visual aids and technical apparatus pertinent to the program’s curriculum
- Completion of team teaching with a qualified instructor
- Be at least 21 years old
- Must hold a MO teaching license with Driver Education certification
- Must have been a valid licensed Class D driver for three years in Missouri or another United States state
- Should participate in workshops/continuing ed on driving practices and new laws as presented by the Department of Public Safety, Department of Transportation and Department of Education
An instructor applicant shall submit a certified copy of the applicant's driving record to the program.
