This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Air Pollution Control Program located at 1659
E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101
. This position is not eligible for remote work, and you must be located onsite.
- Function as the principal scientific expert in creating new, updating existing, and using emissions reporting tools. Lead the data analysis of emissions data for the Data Management Unit.
- Perform quality assurance on point source data. Format and submit point source data to the Emission Inventory System (EIS) as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Emission Inventory (NEI) process.
- Research and create reports on emissions estimates and calculations.
- Conduct emissions data audits of regulated entities and prepare technical reports detailing these investigations.
- Function as the principal scientific expert in applying and using the emissions reporting tools.
- Serve as the air program’s technical expert regarding hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions processes.
- Complete Permit Frameworks as assigned, coordinating with the permit engineer and/or facility if issues arise.
- Assist the regulated community through phone, email, or in‑person related to the Missouri Emissions Inventory System (MoEIS) use and EIQ completion.
- Represent the air program in complex emissions reporting issues involving stakeholders and external air agencies.
- Attend training and seminar continuously working on professional development, technical knowledge and skills, and identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
