Investigator role at State of Missouri /
Missouri Ethics Commission
. The successful applicant will conduct investigations of financial statements, bank records, and accompanying documents for those filing campaign finance and other reports with the Commission. The Investigator will present written findings of the investigation to the Commission.
- Gather, analyze and evaluate facts; prepare case summaries and recommendations for administrative actions and/or prosecutions as necessary.
- Testify, as necessary, at Commission hearings or in court concerning investigative findings.
- Assist with open-ended interviews by formulating relevant questions and documenting results.
- Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree with an emphasis in accounting, business administration, criminal justice, social sciences, or closely related areas. Related work experience may be substituted for education.
- 1-2 years auditing/investigative experience or extensive prior investigative experience (civil or administrative cases preferred).
- Ability to independently formulate open-ended questions for interviews; communicate and work effectively with agency staff, federal, state and local agencies and officials, business entities, law enforcement officials, prosecutors, witnesses and the general public.
- Ability to prepare clear and detailed reports of investigative findings and present written reports to the Commission; maintain strict confidentiality during and after the investigative process.
- Ability to travel may be required (limited travel).
- Starting salary range of $50,000 - $55,000
