Senior Non-Commissioned Investigator

Job Location: This position will be located in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Office of Special Investigations Unit, within the Department of Health and Senior Services, is seeking an experienced investigator to join our dynamic team. The goal of this investigator is to conduct investigations related to allegations of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, misappropriation of funds, and/or falsification of service delivery documents by in‑home aides and consumer direct services (CDS) attendants to determine whether or not they shall be placed on the EDL (Employee Disqualification List).

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

• Identify and interview victims, witnesses and suspects.
• Compile, analyze, evaluate, and preserve facts, statements, affidavits and other evidence.
• Provide testimony in court and/or administrative proceedings.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with law enforcement, Home and Community Based Service providers, other state agencies and community entities.
• Travel within a multi‑county coverage area as needed in response to assigned cases, attend or to provide presentations/trainings.
• Hours of this position will be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; however, overtime hours may be necessary. Travel will be required to conduct interviews, attend meetings or to provide presentations and trainings.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following:
  Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Criminology, Business Administration, social sciences, environmental sciences, or a closely related field; (Substitutions may apply).
• Two or more years of civil, administrative, or criminal investigative (non‑clerical) experience (e.g., tax fraud, licensing, environmental, client care, public assistance, insurance, or military); or experience as a law enforcement officer with responsibility for conducting investigations.
• High level knowledge of the Medicaid system and investigations preferred.
