Why You’ll Love This PositionThe Missouri Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) is seeking a hands‑on and experienced Senior Application Developer. In this exciting role, you’ll be using your leadership capabilities to guide and mentor a small team of developers that support the Department of Revenue’s Integrated Tax System. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and has a strong technical foundation in MS SQL, C#, Visual Studio, SSIS, Job Scheduling, and XML.
You will be responsible for both technical contributions and team oversight to ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of development projects.
- Develop, optimize, and run SQL queries.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Create and modify rules using a rules engine.
- Design and maintain SSIS packages for ETL and data integration processes.
- Manage and configure job automation and scheduling using Tidal.
- Work with XML and related technologies (XSD, XSLT) to support application interfaces and data exchange.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and other IT teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Manage workload distribution, set priorities, and track progress across the team.
- Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment.
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position.
- Experience in application development.
- Advanced skills in MS SQL development.
- Proficiency in Visual Studio and development using C# and other Microsoft technologies.
- Strong experience developing and managing SSIS packages.
- Practical experience with Tidal job scheduler (Cisco Tidal or equivalent).
- Solid understanding and hands‑on use of XML for application data formatting and communication.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of software design concepts.
- Skill in translating technical terminology to clear and concise communications with business partners.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop skills of staff.
- Lack of post‑secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
