The lead information systems technologist performs varied and highly complex technical activities regarding the automated business needs of department employees. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead the team responsible for administering and supporting the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment: including providing expertise, leading projects, delegating work, and mentoring coworkers while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain core Microsoft 365 collaboration tools including SharePoint, Teams, One Drive, and One Note, ensuring reliable functionality, proper permissions, governance, and strong user adoption.
  • Support and enhance organizational productivity by troubleshooting and guiding users through Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Project, and solutions built in the Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Apps).
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize the overall Microsoft 365 environment by managing issues, ensuring data integrity and security, and improving workflows through continuous evaluation and best practices.
  • Research, evaluate, and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends that may impact the organization’s collaboration and productivity tools.
All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree:
    Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, AND four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems, OR
  • Associate’s Degree:
    Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, AND six years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems, OR
  • Eight years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems.

Working Conditions:
  • Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing technical support teams, including delegation, project coordination, and mentoring, while serving as a technical resource.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration, including hands‑on support for SharePoint, Teams, One Drive, One Note, Power Platform, Project, and Copilot.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Power Shell scripts to automate administrative tasks and streamline Microsoft 365 support operations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams while promoting effective use of Microsoft 365 tools.
