Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN - Jefferson , Missouri

Provide critical post-operative nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery in a fast-paced setting. This role involves closely monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, assessing for complications, educating patients and families on post-operative care, and coordinating with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Monitor patients vital signs and recovery progress
• Manage pain, nausea, and other post-anesthesia effects
• Identify and respond to complications and side effects promptly
• Educate patients and family members on post-operative instructions and care plans
• Collaborate effectively with surgical and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
• Utilize electronic medical records system (training provided for Medi Tech)

• Minimum of 1 year experience in PACU or similar specialty area
• At least 1 year traveler nursing experience preferred
• Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
• Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills

• Day shift, five 8-hour shifts per week
• No call or weekend shifts
• Contract position with up to 13 weeks duration
• Employer reserves the right to adjust traveler hours by 36 to 48 hours weekly as needed
