Healthcare Nursing, Surgical Assistant
Provide critical post-operative nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery in a fast-paced setting. This role involves closely monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, assessing for complications, educating patients and families on post-operative care, and coordinating with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patients vital signs and recovery progress
- Manage pain, nausea, and other post-anesthesia effects
- Identify and respond to complications and side effects promptly
- Educate patients and family members on post-operative instructions and care plans
- Collaborate effectively with surgical and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
- Utilize electronic medical records system (training provided for Medi Tech)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in PACU or similar specialty area
- At least 1 year traveler nursing experience preferred
- Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
- Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills
- Day shift, five 8-hour shifts per week
- No call or weekend shifts
- Contract position with up to 13 weeks duration
- Employer reserves the right to adjust traveler hours by 36 to 48 hours weekly as needed
