Facility Operations Specialist Series - Central District
Join the Central District office as a Facility Operations Specialist at the State of Missouri. This role focuses on skilled building and utilities maintenance, repairs, and renovations under general supervision.
What You’ll Do- Perform on‑site inspections of building and utility repairs and maintenance carried out by contractors to ensure work meets required specifications.
- Install and maintain heating, air conditioning equipment, power equipment, lighting fixtures, power panels and related building utilities.
- Repair heating equipment, electrical systems, pumps, plumbing, utility lines, roofs, and related building maintenance.
- Recommend or perform preventative maintenance for buildings and utilities.
- Develop and prepare various building and utilities contracts for maintenance and repairs.
- Wash and detail light‑duty fleet vehicles.
- Perform light maintenance of fleet (oil changes, wiper replacements, bulb replacements, etc.).
- Schedule fleet repairs with vendors.
- Schedule MVI and GI inspections with vendors.
- Enter fleet services in the Asset Works Fleet system.
- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET with completion of a formal post‑secondary technical training program (at least 30 credit hours and one school year in duration) in building trades such as heating, air conditioning, carpentry, or electrical wiring, and two years of experience in building repair and maintenance; OR
- Three years of experience in building repair and maintenance.
- Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical‑physical examination.
- Job may require occasional statewide overnight travel.
- Job requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
- Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.
- Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
