Overview
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Rheumatology – Jefferson City, Part-Time.
Responsibilities- Clinical responsibilities include patient triage (weight, blood pressure, temperature readings), updating medication lists, and documentation of chief complaints.
- Responsible for electronic patient prescription services including communication with pharmacies and verification of all medical prescriptions.
- Must be knowledgeable of EMR.
- Responsible for phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Responsible for pre-certification requirements for all procedures.
- Responsible for calling patients regarding lab results.
- Maintains daily logs and answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
- Communicates with patients about information and education regarding procedure preps.
- Schedules procedures and medical tests and referral appointments, coordinating and rescheduling as necessary.
- Schedules appointments and verifies demographics and insurance information in the patient medical record or file.
- Assists other staff as directed and performs other duties as assigned.
- Applies nursing principles and protocols and understands medication names and prescribing where applicable.
- Knowledge of infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
- Handles medical chart reporting and records; attends required meetings.
- Education:
High School Diploma;
Medical Assistant Training. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Current CPR Certification;
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification.
- Customer service oriented with a pleasant and courteous demeanor; able to work independently and stay organized.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, influence, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a medical office team.
- Daily standing, walking, squatting, bending, and maneuvering; may lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to manage workload-related stress.
