Advanced Practice Clinician – Vascular Surgery, Jefferson, New Jersey

Responsibilities
- The advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care on the inpatient Vascular Surgery service.
- Performs complete history & physical examinations and documents findings in the medical record.
- Orders and collects diagnostic data using appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
- Acts as first responder for patient status changes, orders, and procedural or resuscitative interventions.
- Assesses risks associated with care of acute and complex chronically ill patients, including medication side effects, immobility, nutrition, fluid & electrolyte, immunocompetence, invasive interventions and diagnostics.
- Sees vascular medicine and surgery patients in the office almost daily, bridging inpatient and outpatient care.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to make diagnoses of acute and complex chronic conditions.
- Manages diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance, and supervision.
- Formulates differential diagnoses by priority and identifies expected outcomes.
- Develops, documents, implements, and modifies individualized plans of care guided by evidence‑based guidelines.
- Prescribes diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions, including performing advanced procedures consistent with privileges and competency validation.
- Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary team, patients, family, and staff to promote continuity across inpatient and outpatient continuum.
- Documents patient progress through daily notes, transfers, discharge summaries, and clinic notes, ensuring compliance with acute care standards.
- Engages in professional practice activities such as precepting, mentoring, education, research, Grand Rounds, and specialty meetings.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (RN) or Physician Assistant.
- National Board Certification as an Acute‑Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Salary Range
$ to $ (based on experience, skills and qualifications; position is not eligible for annual incentive).
