We have an exciting opportunity for an analytically driven finance professional to join our Jeffersonville, Indiana plant as a Plant Controller
. This role is well suited for a current Plant Controller or for someone operating as a Budget Supervisor, Cost Accountant, or Assistant Controller who is ready to step into a broader, plant-facing leadership position.

The Plant Controller will play a critical role in helping the plant understand its financial performance—including budget, expenses, margins, and P&L—so leadership can make informed decisions that support a healthy, stable, and efficient operation.

General Purpose of the Role

The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the plant, managing costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing actionable financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. This role serves as a key business partner to the Plant General Manager and cross-functional leaders, bridging finance and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements reflecting plant performance.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, including costs, margins, and operational efficiency, and clearly explain drivers and trends.
  • Support product pricing decisions by analyzing production costs and margin impacts.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts; track performance against targets.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labor, overhead, materials, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through cost control, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
  • Oversee accurate valuation and reporting of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Manage and support cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
  • Ensure proper allocation of costs to products and production lines.
Controls, Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and GAAP.
  • Assist with internal and external audits to support accurate and compliant financial reporting.
Systems, Processes & ERP
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain accounting processes and controls to improve accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Support ERP system enhancements and process improvements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to align financial insights with plant goals.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to plant leadership, translating financial data into operational insights.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and plant-level financial reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Prior experience in a Plant Controller, Finance Manager, or Cost Accountant role is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP required.
  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • Prior people leadership or indirect management experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of financial and operational data.
  • Ability to proactively identify financial risks, cost issues, and performance gaps.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows and cost structures.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial results and recommendations to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and drives continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative team player with strong integrity and ethical standards.
