Position: Production Team Leader (38576)

Overview

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Team Leader will provide direction and supervision to the Machine Assembly Team. The Team Leader will ensure smooth and effective operations of the team and provide support to the Production Manager as required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily beginning of shift meeting
    • Review safety, headcount, quality, and production schedule (including shrink trials)
      • Report safety issues immediately to management
    • Assign headcount resources for production
    • Coordinate OT needs and resources
  • Coordinate shrink trial requests with AFTS Admin/trial requestor (tunnel and tech availability)
    • Assign headcount resources to support scheduled trials
  • Coordinate support resources needed to ensure production timeline adherence
    • Software, Salesmen, customer, BV, etc.
  • Coordinate AX issue management reports and provide needed information for issue creation
    • Utilize Admin for entry into AX
  • Perform or coordinate needed training for personnel to support production and administrative needs
    • Document training
  • Communicate issues and production status daily with Manager
  • Perform spot checks of production materials and communicate needs to Parts team
  • Work in conjunction with Management team to review future production schedules to ensure production goals are met
  • Perform all other additional tasks as needed to ensure production goals are met
  • Installs, services, and repairs SSL (Shrink Sleeve Label) and PSL (Pressure Sensitive Label) machinery on the shop floor
  • Performs troubleshooting and start-up of machinery for demo purposes; resolves technical equipment failures.
  • Conducts testing and root cause analysis on machine components that will lead to effective problem solving.
  • Maintains full functional knowledge of machinery and HMI
  • Completes machine checklists to confirm machine is complete and functional
  • Operates packaging machinery to confirm efficiency is aligned with customer expectations
  • Provides technical feedback on product improvements.
  • Understands and follows Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
  • Completes other duties as assigned in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical systems including PLCs, relays, transformers, circuit breakers, etc.
  • Background with packaging equipment.
  • Possesses a strong electrical and mechanical background with the ability to read and understand blue prints and electrical documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills are a must.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills; must be able to manage tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work week days with possibility of weekend overtime as necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred with 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or Field Service Experience

Education and Experience
  • Has working knowledge of software in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word; knowledge of plant operations is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business and a minimum of five years accounting experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment
