Messenger, the #1 supplier of stationery products to the funeral care industry is expanding their print line and now hiring in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
OverviewWe are seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented print shop technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our production processes and ensuring high-quality standards are met. This position requires a blend of pre-press, technical, and mechanical skills as well as acute attention to detail. An ideal candidate will also have strong digital press and bindery background.
Responsibilities- Claim digital orders from the Print Center Portal
- Impose Jobs
- Drop files in correct Fiery Hot Folders
- Small adjustments in Fiery for printing corrections
- Perform minor color movements as required
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot Canon digital presses with inline booklet maker.
- Operate bindery machinery (rotary die cutter, folding, laminating and guillotine cutting).
- Perform maintenance on equipment, as needed and preventative, to ensure the equipment is operational.
- Assist in receiving/shipping and material handling tasks, to include offload of incoming materials, re-stocking shelves, and shipment of outgoing materials.
- Assist in the layout design and pre-press preparation for projects, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Manual packing and shipping operations.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize production workflows.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret information on work orders and run lists.
- Use of a ruler to accurately measure within 1/16 inch required.
- Experience in pre-press processes and color management a plus.
- Ability to cross-train.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative mindset.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a willingness to learn new skills as needed.
- Mechanical aptitude to allow the appropriate machine repair and set ups.
Hourly Non-exempt, Full-time onsite position
