Summary:A Universal Banker performs a variety of duties to provide existing and potential customers with efficient and accurate services. An employee in this position may be required to perform Customer Service Representative, Teller, and Loan Associate duties. More than one duty is required to be classified as a Universal Banker.
Responsibilities:- Must have and retain extensive knowledge of bank products and services to serve customers effectively
- Perform basic teller, vault, collection, new accounts, and backup loan-related duties
- Maintain a high level of company and customer confidentiality
- Handle teller transactions, including paying, receiving, and maintaining a teller drawer
- Maintain records for vault operations
- Input currency orders and shipments
- Complete laser pro worksheets as requested by loan officers
- Assist in safe deposit box customer entry
Note: Universal Banker I spends approximately 75% of time working the teller line and 25% on platform/new accounts.
OtherDuties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and support all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of teller experience in a financial institution with additional training in a business-related area
Skills:
- Business degree from a technical school and/or college preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficiency in operating a computer, typing, using a ten-key pad, printer, fax, and copier
- May require registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act
- Strong interpersonal skills to relate to and empathize with customers and colleagues
- Excellent organizational, communication, and judgment skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Work hours vary, typically an 8-hour shift between 7:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. May require after-hours representation, customer calls, training, and occasional overtime. Regular attendance is expected.
Physical Demands:Employees must regularly stand, walk, sit, handle equipment, reach, talk, and hear. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required. Up to 50 pounds may need to be lifted or moved. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
