Adult Protective Services Specialist I/II (4663119)

Job Location: 8501 Lucas and Hunt Road, 2nd floor, Jennings, MO 63136.

Shelter, support and investigate cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elders (age 60+) and adults with disabilities (age 18+) to protect Missouri’s most vulnerable citizens.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation with team members.
• Travel within the local multi‑county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, using personal vehicle when necessary; minimal overnight travel required.
• Communicate clearly and perform interviews with high level of professionalism.
• Work independently while collaborating within a team environment.
• Display resilience, critical thinking, and innovative problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an RN licensed and in good standing, or an LPN licensed and in good standing with 1+ year experience (or equivalent experience).
• For the APS Specialist II position, one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or related human services fields.
