Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for an inpatient rehab therapy assignment using Epic EMR.

• Work in an acute inpatient rehab therapy setting with some coverage of swing bed patients
• Shift is Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 08:30 to 17:00
• No self-scheduling or blocked scheduling is allowed
• Patient caseload is 8 to 10 patients per day with 1 therapist per day
• Common patient types include orthopedic (total joints), neurological (strokes, occasional brain injuries), and general ICU/medical cases
• Must float to another facility when census is low
• Epic EMR is used in the department and experience is required
• A longer contract may be available
• Must be flexible to float to other sites as needed
• Orientation includes 2-3 days in department
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• There is an OT manager on each shift, but no COTAs or rehab aides are staffed
• May be required to cover holidays
• Scrubs are permitted, but must not match the color of other departments; a list of acceptable colors is provided upon hire
• Permanent employees must be away from the facility one year before applying for a travel assignment

• Active Occupational Therapist license required for consideration, if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of licensed acute inpatient or rehab OT experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Driver’s license required
• Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; no local candidates accepted
