Position Summary

The Vacation Relief Inventory-Receiving position is a key member of the procurement team. The person filling this position will work at both IMP facilities. This individual is responsible for covering for the day shift inventory clerk or receiving clerk for absences or vacations and must possess the skills and knowledge to perform the duties of each of those positions. Must safely operate a forklift and drive company vehicle.

When not needed to cover for either of the clerks, the vacation relief is responsible for organization and physical counts of inventory stored in the warehouse and outside storage for both facilities. Works with teammates to assist where needed. This individual must have attention to detail, can work independently, and is safety minded. Is able to solve problems and make decisions through sound reasoning and judgement.

Functions, Duties And Performance Responsibilities
  • Works well in a team environment as well as independently.

  • Is expected to abide by all safety rules and GMP guidelines.
  • Is required to be certified for and safely operate a forklift to complete tasks where a lift is required.
  • Performs physical inventory counts using a blind count method.
  • Reviews and updates existing SOPs regularly to reflect process improvements, system changes, and compliance updates as well as maintaining version control, proper documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Will be responsible for electronic entry of counts, receipts, usage, and other transactions.
  • Uses software systems in place to accomplish the proper entries and requires a good understanding of the software used to manage inventory, purchasing, and receiving, as well as familiarity with the procedures in doing so.
  • This position requires flexibility to provide coverage for either day or night shifts when a team member is absent for five (5) or more consecutive days.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifications and Qualifications Education

High school diploma/GED or equivalent work-related experience.

Experience
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Forklift experience is a plus and/or the ability to pass Idaho Milk Products forklift training course.
  • Computer experience.
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Familiarity with inventory control and receiving.
  • Knowledge of parts especially of those used in a dairy facility is helpful.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, works well without supervision.
  • Accuracy and attention to details in daily activities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Effective prioritizing and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Subject to up to at least 92db’s.
  • Subject to short term exposure of temperatures above 100 degrees and below 0 degrees, depending upon the environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
  • Lifting: up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Walking:
    Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, on a regular basis.
  • Reaching:
    Extending hands and arms in any direction.
  • Stooping:
    Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist occasionally.
  • Talking:
    Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities that must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
