Mobile Diesel Mechanic – Rush Enterprises, Inc

We’re looking for experienced, certified Mobile Diesel Technicians to support our fleet network and deliver on‑site service calls to our customers. Join a leader in the commercial truck industry and grow with us as we expand our network of locations and services.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
  • Perform basic maintenance such as fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and scheduled inspections.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and stay stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and receive daily assignments.
  • Remain available for after‑hours service calls and an open work schedule.
  • Track and use supplied tools for diesel engine truck maintenance.
  • Read job orders, observe vehicles in operation, diagnose and plan repair procedures.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to determine and perform correct repairs.
  • Diagnose, remove, and replace injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts.
  • Document all diagnostics and repairs on the company computer system.
  • Inspect safety devices, adjust as needed, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as requested.
  • Submit paperwork or enter service data accurately and timely.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
  • Advise customers or service writers on needed repairs within the next 3 months.
  • Participate in training and apply it to daily work.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
  • Current CDL preferred but not required.
  • Medical card as required by FMVS.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
  • Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications preferred and rewarded.
