Position Summary:
The Office of Continuing Education seeks a dedicated, experienced professional to join as a Part-Time Instructor. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in the NICET certificates in Highway Construction Inspection, Soil, Asphalt, or Concrete Testing. This position involves teaching and updating the curriculum to meet NICET testing requirements.
- Deliver quality instruction in Highway Construction Inspection, Soil, Asphalt, or Concrete Testing courses with the approved curriculum. Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry standards and practices.
- Collaborate with the department and industry partners to design and enhance existing curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with NICET certification requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in Construction.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- NICET certification in Highway Construction Inspection, Soil, Asphalt, or Concrete Testing.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience, ideally at the college level.
- Proficiency with online video conferencing tools.
- Experience working in an urban community college setting.
